ABBEY-2-2

So, did you ever think you’d end up being an actress? Did it come up out of the blue, or was it always a bit of a dream you had… How did it all pan out?
It came entirely out of the blue, not because I didn’t want to, but because I never realised it was even an option.

What is your favourite childhood movie or character and who would you love to play?
My all time favourite is The Little Mermaid. To play a mermaid of sorts in a film would be crazy. I would flip. For sure my wildest dream.

What was the best thing about making Mad Max: Fury Road? How did you get along with everyone, and what’s the weirdest thing that happened to you on set?
I think the best thing about shooting Mad Max aside from the fact I found my true passion is that I gained a best friend. Riley Keough has become a sister to me and I can’t imagine my life without her in it.

I think I’ve always loved decorating myself. It’s like an art for me. Jewellery is the best way to do that.

We share the strong sentiment on jewellery collecting – what do you love about it? What are you wearing now?
I think I’ve always loved decorating myself. It’s like an art for me. Jewellery is the best way to do that. Plus anything that sparkles has always caught my eye. Right now I can’t get enough of cheap Duane read hoops and my diamond crucifix.

What’s your favourite MANIAMANIA piece?
I love the Immortals ring. It will always be a favourite.

You have a beloved pet lizard called Annie, What’s the story behind her, and have you always been into lizards? What about a snake next?
Annie came at a time in my life I needed an unconditionally loving companion. I had a friend when I was a teenager who had lizards so I know them well. Because of how much I travel it’s impossible to have a needy pet. Annie can be alone for days on end and she’s fine. I just make sure she has water and a timed heat lamp. There’s something fascinating about reptiles. They are mysterious. I don’t trust snakes. I’ll stick to lizards for now.

What was the last song you listened to? Do you miss playing in a band and do you play or have plans to again? Are you still into painting or do you have any other creative outlets?
The last song I listened to was ‘Can’t Do Without You’ by Caribou. I love it. Makes me wanna dance. I do miss playing in a band. A lot. Especially being on tour. There is something so liberating about being on the open road with one focus. I hope I play again. I would like to, right now acting is my focus. I haven’t painted for a while only because I left New York 6 months ago for California so I don’t have a studio anymore. I will always be making art though even if right now it is on standby.

If you could be reincarnated as anything what would you be?
Madonna. Why not?
